  71. This package contains the PCW (TM) Protection Class for Windows, by
  72. MicroFox Company. This document contains only a brief description of the
  73. package and its features, along with instructions for its installation.
  74. Quite detailed documentation is included in the package, but it is in
  75. archived form, and is more easily read after installation.

  77. If you've ever wished you could look up fire protection codes for any
  78. town in Ohio, then PCW is the program for your insurance agency.
  79.  
  80. PCW is a shareware program. This evaluation version includes all features
  81. of the program, and is not crippled in any way. You may use it for up to
  82. 30 days, without charge (see help screen for more details). If you like
  83. the program, and wish to continue its use after this evaluation period,
  84. you are required to pay for the program (see REGISTER.DOC for more
  85. details). Any fee you may have paid to others (disk vendors, dealers,
  86. etc.) to obtain this evaluation version was a fee for their copying and
  87. distribution services, rather than a payment for continued use of the
  88. program.

  107. ===== Installation =====================================

  109. The installation procedure for Protection Class for Windows is quite
  110. simple. The package includes a program, "SETUP.EXE", which automates the
  111. entire process. You will need about 2 meg of available disk space on the
  112. hard drive on which you plan to install PCW.
  113.  
  114. The exact steps you need to take will depend on how you received PCW.
  115.

  117. INSTALLING FROM DISKETTES
  118.  
  119. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  120.  
  121.    o  Place the PCW distribution diskette in the appropriate drive.
  122.  
  123.    o  Execute the "SETUP" program on the distribution diskette from
  124.       the Windows program manager.
  125.  
  126.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program. You
  127.       will have a chance to approve installation before any changes are
  128.       actually made to the contents of your hard drive. The program will
  129.       ask you for a destination directory, and will copy the PCW files to
  130.       that directory.

  133. INSTALLING FROM A HARD DRIVE
  134.  
  135. If you downloaded PCW from a BBS (or received it in the form of
  136. archive files from some other source), you will need to perform the
  137. following steps.
  138.  
  139.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) in a temporary
  140.       directory on your hard drive. The procedure for doing this varies,
  141.       depending on the form in which you received the package. In all
  142.       likelihood, the fact that you are reading this text means that you
  143.       already have the necessary tools and knowledge to perform this
  144.       step. If not, you should be able to obtain directions for this from
  145.       the same source from which you received the package.
  146.  
  147.    o  Execute the "SETUP.EXE" program which you have extracted.  For
  148.       example, if the temporary directory into which you have extracted
  149.       the PCW package is C:\TEMPDIR, you would execute command,
  150.       "c:\tempdir\setup" from the Windows program manager.

  152.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program.
  153.       You will have a chance to approve installation before any changes
